- Some thoughts about love -

12/07/2026

It’s way way past midnight when I’m writing this. The moon’s light cant be seen through the thick clouds, and I’m resting on my bed, hearing my inner thoughts speak. Usually I never listen to them, they are just accusing me of things I already know I am, or stuff that might not even be true; It’s hard to trust them when you’re so tired. However, I decided to entertain one of those ideas that seemed to emerge from not a place of hatred for myself, but more just a reflection coming from some recent experiences and just some thoughts I had for the longest while. Is it worth having a relationship if all you’re getting out of it is some temporary happiness?

Now this blog post was meant to be way way different, but the only thing my previous draft ended up being was an incel being unhappy about the world or whatever, that’s not what I want to be or what I want people to be. I just wanna think about romantic relationships and the value they have, and I want YOU, the viewer, to also think about romantic relationships.

But what do I really say when I mean temporary happiness? Well that mostly comes out of seeing how a lot of relationships, they seem to last for very little. This probably comes from me being in high-school and with how unreliable them relationships can be lmao, but even when you’re out of high-school some relationships last very little. That’s the thing I’m wondering, why then, get a false sense of love if it only will take some time for it to fade away and only leave you with someone you will probably not talk to again? Because lets be honest, talking to someone that ditched you or that you ditched… Yeah that’s awkward as all hell, and if you say you “love” someone but then say that you don’t feel that way anymore, then there wasn’t really any love in there was there?

Although its not like I don’t see value in being with someone, because it seems really fun flirting with each other, being all cutesy and all that crap, maybe even kissing! Some would also argue about SEX but I don’t nearly care enough about that, if I were to be in love with someone, it would be romantically and not lustfully (hell, could you even call that love too?)

But with the things I’ve seen and experienced, It just makes me think that friends can give you the same amount of happiness as being in a relationship. And it’s not like you can’t be cute together or do things like, hugging *gasp* because you can do that, you very much can (speaking from experience), and out of it you get something that will last for a really long time, them friendships take a long time to die, and if they do die, its because you died.

But that’s mostly what I think about love, being romantic, and friends. I’m honestly way more happy with this than whatever crap I wrote before, and I wanna hear what you got to say on this matter too, it’s genuinely an interesting topic to talk about. But please do so with a cool head and not with intent on hating on a specific person or previous failed relationship.

I’d link to my mail but chivanet’s down so the RBO irc is your best bet to do so (#offtopic). Lastly I just wanna leave this final paragraph to who may need to read it, maybe even myself heh.

Love, will take a while to manifest in your life, and when I say this I’m referring to getting a gf or bf. You can always try taking your shots, because it is technically true that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, but even if you miss them, just remember to be patient. You aren’t some sort of abomination and you certainly aren’t someone that will never find love because it hasn’t appeared yet. That mindset can appear in everyone’s head, it even appeared in mine for a while but after meeting so many people recently, that mindsets long gone now. And it’s not late for you to be happy, we still got 90-ish years remaining in our lives it can’t be over for us in our teen years can it? Just remember to be patient and kind with each other, that’s all I got to say. Thank you for reading this weird ramble :)
